Facelift Q & A
Who is a facelift for?
A facelift is a good procedure for people who are bothered by the impact gravity and sun exposure have taken on their face. You may find you have deep creases, a slack jawline, and folds in the neck that make you look older than you feel.
With a facelift, Dr. Bhatt tightens facial muscles, removes unwanted pockets of fat, and trims loose, sagging skin. Consider a facelift to address the following issues:
- Nasolabial folds
- Mid-face sagging
- Deep creases under the eyes
- Loose skin under the jaw and chin
What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is surgery to reframe the nose. You should have completed your facial growth prior to undergoing this surgery, so girls must be at least 15-16 while boys must be at least 17-18.
Rhinoplasty may be performed to improve the functioning of your nose and sinuses or for aesthetic reasons. You may seek a rhinoplasty in order to:
- Increase or decrease nose size
- Reshape the nostrils
- Remove a hump or modify the bridge
- Reshape the tip
- Repair an injury
- Open breathing passages
To undergo rhinoplasty, you must be in good health and not smoke. Dr. Bhatt discusses what you should expect with rhinoplasty and ensures you have realistic expectations regarding your results.
What is eyelid surgery?
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is surgery to tighten the eyelids’ muscles and tissue. During the procedure, Dr. Bhatt also removes excess fat and skin, especially if this extra tissue is drooping into your visual field and impairing your vision.
The eyelids are one of the first places to show signs of aging because the skin there is much thinner and more delicate. Sun exposure, smoking, and obesity can exacerbate the progression of eyelid drooping and make surgery necessary.
